Harmonic Design PL16 | Passive 16X3" PowerLine Stick

The hd PL-Series extends the Harmonic Design LineArray Stick portfolio with a more powerful PowerLine Stick loudspeaker series with a comparable nice outer appearance as the hd ML-Series. Lightweight enclosures using modern materials from airspace combined with groundbreaking new designed 3“ drivers for a long lasting and reliable column speakers with outstanding sound reproduction of music and speech in even larger applications. The elegant PowerLine Sticks are set up in only a few seconds and are very easy to handle. There are customer specific length available according to the modular design of every Harmonic Design column speaker series to fulfill every applications needs.

Perfect integration into room architecture and stage scenery with various colors and sizes makes the hd PL-Series the first choice of architects and system integrators all over the world. For mobile use the system is designated to be used with modular active plug&play system subwoofers of the hd P-Series. The hd PL16 is the standard model of the hd PL-Series. Equipped with sixteen new designed hd 3“ drivers the hd PL16 reproduces a coherent sound within a cylindrical wave propagation to the highest audible frequencies. The resulting longer throw distance with less loss over distance and improved speech intelligibility thank to the directed wave propagation compared to other column speakers predestines the hd PL-Series PowerLine Sticks for the usage in difficult acoustical environments such as churches, stations, airports or concert halls where excellent performance is needed.

For superb and linear reproduction of a sound event from the fundamental to the highest audible frequencies conventional loudspeakers have to use different types of drivers to reproduce the whole frequency range. The result is incoherence and phase shifts in the mid-range due to different diaphragm masses, varying transient behaviors and decay times of the different sized drivers. According to the true 1-way design the PowerLine Sticks are free of interference in the important mid-range because there are no phase delays, since every speaker has the same signal and the same characteristics. The result is an outstanding sound quality in music and speech, extended dynamic and even coverage of audience areas.

Various mounting solutions are available with the standardized U-slot from bottom to top at the rear of the column speaker. M6 square nuts can be inserted easily to use tilt and swivel wall mounts or stand adaptors for fixed installations or mobile use. A standard Neutrik NL4MP is located at the bottom plate for input connection in mobile applications whereas a terminal block is on the inside for fixed installations. The protective design grill with deposited acoustic foam is also available in the same finish like the housings to ensure perfect protection against splash water or damage. To protect the speakers during transport there are padded bags or a lightweight case available. All loudspeakers can be used in distributed high voltage applications with the 100V-option which is also available.
